GoEnnounce, INC ("GoEnnounce" or "we"), operator of goenounce.com, respects your preferences concerning the treatment of personal information that we may collect from your use of the GoEnounce service (the “Service”) and your interactions with GoEnnounce offline. This policy lets you know how we collect and use your personal information, and how you can control its use. This policy describes the broadest potential use of personal information throughout the Service and in offline transactions that is consistent with the terms of this policy. However, please note that we may make far less use of your personal information.

1. TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE COLLECT IT

GoEnnounce is different from other companies that collect your personal information to monetize such data. Our primary purpose in collecting personal information from you (the “User”) is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience that gives you a portfolio to serve your needs. This allows us to provide features that are meant to customize our service to make your experience more productive, safer, and easier. We only collect personal information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this purpose.

In general, you can browse our website (the “Site”) without telling us who you are or revealing personal information about yourself. Once you become a User, we require you to provide various contact and identity information, billing information, and other personal information as indicated on the relevant forms on the Site (which vary, depending on what kind of User you are). Where possible, on these forms we indicate which fields are required and which fields are optional.

You always have the option to not provide information by choosing not to become a User or by not using the particular feature of the Site for which the information is being collected.

Personal Information. This policy covers the following personal information that GoEnnounce collects through your use of the Service and in connection with offline interactions. Specifically, we may collect this information from offline and online registrations and forms, communications and interactions, and sales inquiries and transactions. GoEnnounce also may use third-party sources, such as opt-in lists, as specified below.

  • Contact information, such as name, physical address, telephone number, e-mail address and school institution.

  • Profile information submitted directly by the User; you can also voluntarily provide additional information, such as a profile photo, biographical information, academic & extracurricular reflections, evidence such as projects & artifacts in the form of documents, photos or videos, that demonstrate your personal growth and progression, to make better use of our Service.

  • Transactional information, including information about the products and services you request, purchase, access or download.

  • User preferences, such as product requirements, areas of industry/academic interest and other information you select in your profile when registering for and using the Service, or as indicated by your use of the Service.

  • Financial/credit card and payment information for users who have activated the MY FUNDS feature to fundraise on GoEnnounce or received Rewards, and for users sending monetary rewards to congratulate a student’s e-nnouncement post or fundraising donation payments.

  • Usage statistics relating to your use of GoEnnounce products and services.

Electronic Communications Protocols and Cookies. In addition to the information specified above, we may collect information about your use of the Service through electronic communications protocols and cookies. As is true when you visit most websites, GoEnnounce may automatically receive information from you as part of the communication connection itself, which often consists of network routing information (where you came from), equipment information (browser type) and date and time. GoEnnounce also uses cookies, embedded URLs, embedded pixels and other similar technologies to capture additional information.

Our Cookie Policy describes the cookies and other technologies that GoEnnounce uses on its website and the choices that you have.

We also automatically track certain information about you based upon your behavior on our Site and store it through log files. We use this information to do internal research on our users’ demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand, protect and serve you and our community and make our Service better. This information may include the URL that you just came from, which URL you next go, your computer browser information, and your IP address. We may provide Customers’ IP addresses to payment intermediaries in the course of the payment process.

The information provided by these technologies may be re-associated with personal information by GoEnnounce.

2. USE AND SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

GoEnnounce uses (and, only where specified, shares) your personal information for the following purposes:

To engage in transactions. GoEnnounce may use personal information such as name, physical address, telephone number, e-mail address and company/institution to engage in transactions with you, including contacting you about your registration, for notification purposes to inform you of new engagement on your profile, i.e a new  follower request or comment on your e-nnouncement posts, and transactions such as a new Fundraising donation or monetary Reward to congratulate an e-nnouncement post if you have enabled “MY FUNDS” to fundraise or collect Rewards via your GoEnnounce profile.  If you choose to activate your “MY FUNDS” (must be via a parent or guardian if you are under 18), and link or open and enable a Stripe account (our payment processor) to fundraise or collect Rewards via GoEnnounce, GoEnnounce will pass along the user information you submit via GoEnnounce to Stripe to open or enable an existing Stripe account for you.

To process transactions. GoEnnounce may use financial/credit card and payment information to process your transactions, such as sending a donation to a student’s Fundraising Mission or giving a student a monetary Reward to congratulate an e-nnouncement post. GoEnnounce may need to share some of this information with our payment processor, Stripe, delivery services, credit card clearing houses and other third parties to complete the transactions. We may provide your IP address to Stripe in the course of the payment process.

To provide support or other services. GoEnnounce may use your personal information, such as your email address, to provide you with customer support or other services that you have ordered or requested. In addition, GoEnnounce may use your personal information to respond to your inquiries or requests for information.

To tailor marketing to your interests and respond to your requests. GoEnnounce may use your personal information to provide you with notices of new product releases and service developments. GoEnnounce also may use your personal information to respond directly to your requests for information, including registrations for newsletters or other specific requests, or pass your contact information to the appropriate GoEnnounce distributor or reseller for further follow-up related to your interests.

To provide online forums and social networks. Some services available on the Service permit you to participate in interactive discussions, post comments, opportunities or other content to a personal profile, your Student Page profile, Teacher Page profile, our networking feeds, or otherwise engage in networking activities. These services are moderated for safety and content approval in order to assure you are not violating our Terms or Use; all content may be accessed by GoEnnounce for technical reasons. You should assume that any posts you make may be viewed by other Users, such as your school or district if they have licensed the use of our Service for you, and or our staff, and you should not post any information that you want to keep confidential.

GoEnnounce does have filters in place on posting and commenting features which are intended to block contact information exchange and other inappropriate content that violates our Terms of Service. For example, if a user in an e-nnouncement post or comment attempts to share personal contact information such as phone numbers or email addresses filters are intended to block this from occurring. If something is missed in our automatic filters and found by a staff moderator to be inappropriate contact information exchange, the contact information, post or comment will be removed. As a student User, if a school or district has licensed usage of the Service for you and you have content removed or where the victim of someone trying to share contact information, GoEnnounce notifies parties involved with your account such as your administrators, teachers and/or parents.  GoEnnounce does not control the content that users post to these settings. You should carefully consider whether you wish to submit personal information in these settings, such as location or contact information, and you should tailor any content you submit appropriately and in accordance with the relevant Terms of Service.

To protect all of our users and their user experience, GoEnnounce also has filters in place to block the usage of inappropriate language and behavior.. Certain words and phrases will be blocked from e-nnouncement posts and comments. If you try to post something with a word or phrase that is blocked you will receive an error message and be asked to adjust your post. If something is missed in our filters and a moderator later finds a comment or post to contain inappropriate behavior, language, files or photos, i.e profane, offensive, bullying, violent, etc. it will be removed. GoEnnounce will make best attempts to remove content deemed in violation of our Terms of Service within 48 hours. In the case of content removal, the user is notified why his/her content was removed. As a student User, if a school or district has licensed usage of the Service for you and you have content removed GoEnnounce notifies parties involved with licensing your account such as your school or district administrators, teachers, and parents. Additionally, GoEnnounce does our best to monitor for content that is a safety concern or illustrates Users experiencing any signs of emotional or physical duress, distress, or stress. As a student User, if a school or district has licensed usage of the Service for you and your content demonstrate any of these concerns GoEnnounce notifies parties involved with licensing your account such as your school or district administrators, teachers, and parents.

GoEnnounce does not allow for any 2-way private messaging feature between users.  Visitors to your profile, your Student Page profile or Teacher Page profile may only contact you via the comment feature on any of your e-nnouncement posts. Other visitors to your profile will also see these comments and comments are monitored to adhere to our Terms of Service. You are only allowed to send private messages to anyone on GoEnnounce in the form of a “THANK YOU” for any Donations or Rewards received in your MY FUNDS. This “THANK YOU” sends in the form of an e-mail and is delivered via a “noreply” email address, so the recipient of the “THANK YOU” cannot respond to the user.  If the school or district enables the feature, Teachers and Administrators, via their “Classroom” dashboard, are able to 1-way message a student to give private feedback to the student about the content the student is posting to his/her Student Page profile. Users receive this message in the form of a notification and cannot respond back to the teacher or administrator who sent the 1-way message.

You should further review any additional terms and conditions that may govern your use of these services, including terms related to use, sharing your personal information and receiving communications.  You acknowledge that any information you post in publicly accessible areas of the Service (e.g., your personal profile depending on your “Privacy” settings or another User’s public profile) may be accessible to the general public, including, but not limited to, Internet search engines and indexing services.

To select content, improve quality and facilitate use of the Service. GoEnnounce may use your personal information, including the information gathered as a result of site navigation and electronic protocols and cookies (including third-party cookies), to help create and personalize Service content, facilitate your use of the Service (for example, to facilitate navigation and the login process, avoid duplicate data entry, enhance security, keep track of shopping cart items and preserve order information between sessions), improve Service quality, track marketing campaign responsiveness and evaluate page response rates.

To comply with legal requirements. GoEnnounce may disclose your personal information to comply with laws, court orders, litigation or other legal processes, and/or in response to requests from governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence. We may also disclose information about you, if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our rights or protect our operations or users, for example by sharing violations of Terms of Service with the school or district who licensed use of the product for you.

As part of a merger or acquisition. GoEnnounce may disclose your personal information to a successor or acquiring entity as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or other transaction involving all or substantially all of GoEnnounce’s assets.

3. STRIPE INTEGRATION

Certain parts of the Service allow you to integrate with Stripe for payment and sending and receipt of funds. If you choose to integrate the Service with Stripe, we will have access to information that you allow Stripe to share with us, and we may share your information with Stripe as necessary to process transactions. Your interactions with Stripe are subject to it’s privacy policy.  Details regarding fees associated with the use of Stripe and transaction charges are outlined in our Terms of Use. You are never charged anything to activate and use Stripe, you are only subject to transaction fees from Stripe as donations to fundraising Missions or Rewards your Followers send to congratulate your e-nnouncement posts come in.

4. PRIVACY PREFERENCES

The Service provides tools for you to set the viewing rights to your Student Page and profile fields and determine who can view and participate in your Missions. You can set global values that apply generally, or you can customize selections to fine tune your preferences within Edit Profile under Privacy. Note, however, that the Service applies default settings when you establish an account with the Service, and those default settings will apply unless you change them or the school or district who licensed use of your account has set them for you. Default settings will also apply when the Service introduces new features. You should review your Privacy preferences regularly to ensure that the settings match your preferences.

5. CORRECTING AND UPDATING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Upon written request GoEnnounce will provide you with information about what personal information we have about you. To review, delete and update your personal information to ensure it is accurate, you may login into your account to make the changes, or you may contact us at info@goennounce.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe. We may ask you for further information from you to help us respond to your request, including asking for government-issued identification.

6. OUR DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We will share or disclose your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy, including as follows:

Payment Information. We use credit card and other personally identifiable information you submit to us on the Site, and other information that we collect, as required, to process payments you make through the Site through our payment processor intermediaries. We do not store credit card or other payment method information; in all other cases our payment processors have the sole and complete responsibility for the storage of credit card and payment information. We may also share personally identifiable information with our payment processor intermediaries for risk management and fraud prevention.

Related third party products and services. From time to time, we may offer you opportunities to receive related products and services that integrate with, or complement, the services we offer via the Site. We will only share your information with such third parties if you choose to request their products or services (or to be assessed for eligibility to receive such products or services). You will always have the opportunity to elect to choose to interact and share information from your profile with these third parties or deny interaction.  If you do choose to request such products or services, we will provide your information to the relevant third party on your behalf, as required to provide the products or services you have requested. We do not control the use, storage, retention, processing, or disclosure of your information by such third parties, and this Privacy Policy will not apply to them. Your relationship with these third parties will generally be subject to their separate terms and conditions as well as privacy policies or statements, and we recommend that you carefully review these documents before requesting their products or services.

Subsidiaries and Affiliates; Service Providers. We may from time to time use the services of affiliates, subsidiaries and unrelated service providers in the operation of the Site, and may disclose personal information to them in the course of our use of their services. For example, we may use the services of third-party hosting companies to host the operation of the Site. This may involve the hosting of data, including personal information, on servers operated by those hosting companies. We take care to use only service providers that we believe are reputable, have equivalent or better security safeguards in place than us, and able to live up to our and your expectations, including about the handling of confidential information. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

Legal Requests and Business Transitions; Emergencies. In certain situations, GoEnnounce may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. GoEnnounce may disclose your personal information (a) to any governmental authority as part of an investigation to determine our compliance with any applicable law, rule, or regulation (including privacy laws, rules, and regulations), (b) in response to a court order, subpoena, discovery request, or other lawful judicial or administrative proceeding, (c) as otherwise required or permitted under any applicable law, rule, or regulation, and (d) in good faith, to protect or defend the rights or property of GoEnnounce and other users and (e) if GoEnnounce is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

7. GENERAL

Your California Privacy Rights. Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, if you are a California resident and your business relationship with GoEnnounce is primarily for personal, family or household purposes, you may request certain data regarding GoEnnounce’s disclosure, if any, of personal information to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an e-mail message to claims@goennounce.com with "Request for California Privacy Information" in the subject line. You may make such a request up to once per calendar year. If applicable, we will provide you, by e-mail, a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the third parties' names and addresses. Please note that not all personal information sharing is covered by Section 1798.83's requirements.

GoEnnounce does not track its visitors over time and across third party websites to provide targeted advertising and therefore does currently not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, some third party sites do keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. If you are visiting such sites, your browser allows you to set the DNT signal on your browser so that third parties (particularly advertisers) know you do not want to be tracked.

Third-Party Sites

The Service Provides Links To Non-GoEnnounce Sites We Believe May Be Of Interest To You. Those Sites Are Beyond Our Control. Your Interactions With Those Third Parties Are Subject To Their Privacy Policies And Terms Of Service.

Go Classes:

We provide access to content, lessons and courses available in Go Classes. Currently Go Classes offers 1 online class to get certified in digital citizenship by GoEnnounce.  Licensees of the Student Page profile, i.e schools & districts may elect to purchase and provide access to courses for students, turn access to courses off for students, or allow students to see available courses and purchase access themselves.

Digital Citizen is an online competency-based course designed to sharpen your digital citizenship skills.  You work through the course on your time frame and stop and start as needed. 6 lesson topics include digital footprints, digital health and wellness, cyberbullying, safe use of social media, digital etiquette, literacy & communication. Lessons include video content, quizzes and assessments. Lessons also include links to outside 3rd party content, articles and video to learn more.

Upon completion, GoEnnounce will evaluate your online assessments and you appear anonymous to during this evaluation stage. Evaluators only see the content of the assessments and elect to notify the you anonymously with feedback to re-do an assessment or award your digital micro-credential badge—right to your GoEnnounce Student Page. Visitors to your Student Page profile can click on the micro-credential badge to see the course requirements.

Go Opportunities:

We also offer brand sponsored scholarships or initiatives, Go Opportunities. Students may opt in to being considered for possible scholarships or other rewards based on criteria established by our partners.  GoEnnounce does not currently offer any sponsored scholarships or initiatives.

Your personal information is not exchanged with the brand when opting in to these initiatives, you are just authorizing GoEnnounce as the Service to review your activity on behalf of the brand to determine if you are eligible for the award. At anytime we may add additional scholarships and initiatives that may be sponsored by 3rd party brands to Go Opportunities.

You must elect to opt in to every Go Opportunity individually, by selecting Apply, per above, to be considered. We may direct you to content, like the above link, from a third party brand (the sponsor) hosted on the GoEnnounce blog, a GoEnnounce landing page or third party brand’s site to explain the content & activity criteria to posted on your Student Page the brand considers from you to be eligible. Please note that the brand may ask you to post personal information about recent accomplishments, interests or goals on your GoEnnounce Student Page, and you will need to decide if it is appropriate to post this activity to your GoEnnounce Student Page.

The Service will handle all communication with you if you become the recipient of the award. Your personal information will not be shared with the brand upon receiving the award, however, GoEnnounce and the brand may share your Student Page (if your privacy settings are set to public) on their respective social media channels and blogs, acknowledging you are the recipient of the award. While we seek to work with partners we think our users would be interested in, we can’t take responsibility for determining if any given partner’s offer is appropriate for you.   We can disable a student’s access to “Apply” and access Go Opportunities if the licensee of the Student Page, i.e the school or district, would like us to.

MY FUNDS

We do link to Stripe to allow you the ability to open financial services accounts with Stripe - https://stripe.com/us/legal to accept REWARD payments and MISSION donations (see Paragraph 16 and 17  in the Terms of Service for details). An adult, over 18, must consent to the terms of service and privacy policies of all financial services accounts.

Transfer of Information to Other Countries.  GoEnnounce’s processing of the information that it collects may involve the transfer of that information to various countries around the world, including countries other than the one in which you reside. By submitting your information to GoEnnounce, you consent to such transfers and to the processing of that information in various countries around the world, including countries other than the one in which you reside. Specifically, you agree that we may transfer such information to and store and process it in the United States.

Use by Minors. The Service is intended for use by adults and youths over the age of 13. In connection with the Service, GoEnnounce allows students under the age of 13 to utilize the service only with the participation of and activation by a parent or guardian.  GoEnnounce offers a primary Digital Citizenship curriculum to schools and districts which integrates with the use of Student Page profile as a portfolio and parent engagement tool. A parent or guardian must authenticate and activate a child under the age of 13’s account.  A child does not have access to his/her Student Page profile until the parent activates the account. Upon activation, the parent becomes the child’s “Follower” and receives every e-nnouncement post the child shares via email, instantly as the child posts updates. Students are encouraged to share academic and extracurricular updates, goals and accomplishments as e-nnouncement posts to their Student Page profile and start to build a student portfolio.

A child under the age of 13 is locked on a setting of “Top Secret” until he/she turns 13. When a child is “Top Secret” on GoEnnounce his/her profile is hidden (only accessible by the parent or guardian via a login passcode and the teacher or administrator who licensed use of the Service for the child), and cannot be indexed by search engines.  If the teacher or administrator who licensed use of the profile enables a “Class” feed, for students to interact and practice networking, apply digital literacy and digital communication lessons, the students in the “class” feed can see e-nnouncement posts of other students in the feed but students cannot access each other’s Student Page profiles.

Children under 13 are monitored by the Service under same standards defined above and as set forth in the Terms of Service. Access to Go Classes, Go Opportunities and global feeds are disabled for children under 13.

The Company intends to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are under the age of 13, your parent must sign up with their contact information.

8. Security

GoEnnounce takes reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the Personal Data provided via the Site or the services from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no Internet, email or other electronic transmission is ever fully secure or error free, so you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us in this way.

10. Changes to GoEnnounce’s Privacy Policy

The Site and our business may change from time to time. As a result, at times it may be necessary for GoEnnounce to make changes to this Privacy Policy. GoEnnounce reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time and from time to time without prior notice, unless otherwise required by the applicable law. Please review this policy periodically, and especially before you provide any Personal Data. Your continued use of the Site after any changes or revisions to this Privacy Policy shall indicate your agreement with the terms of such revised Privacy Policy, without prejudice to your rights under the applicable law.
